The Lost Journal Project

The Lost Journal Project is a transmedia narrative experiment exploring probability, human connection, and the practice of letting go.

51 journals are released into the world to be lost, found, and lost again. Each carries a single prompt: write a letter to yourself, or someone else, then let it go.

With no route and no way of knowing where they will end up, the project asks what happens when we let probability and possibility shape the present. What might we discover when our version of ‘the now’ crosses, however briefly, with someone else’s?

Somewhere within that uncertainty lies the beauty of it all: the possibility that the words we let go of might travel through the hands of strangers and, one day, find their way back to us at the very moment we need to read them again.

The practice of letting go is letting live.
